Veneers
What Is a Dental Veneer?
A dental veneer is a very thin but strong porcelain shell that fits perfectly over a tooth to cover visible imperfections. They are precisely crafted to fit your tooth and match the aesthetics of your smile.
Enhancing just one tooth with a custom veneer can make your entire smile look more symmetrical and attractive.
Top 3 Benefits of Treatment
Customizable
Veneers are a cosmetic dentistry treatment that can be customized by our dentists so their shape, size, and shade can blend seamlessly with your existing teeth.
Results in Just Two Appointments
Dental veneers can give you a bright, attractive smile in just two appointments at our patient-focused Amarillo practice. That's a fraction of the time you could expect to spend undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Built to Last
Our dental veneers are made of stunning, natural-looking porcelain which is both durable and stain-resistant. With proper care, your treatment can last 10 years or more.
Completely Transform Your Smile With a Smile Makeover
If you're looking to transform your smile, our dentists can design a treatment plan tailored just to you. Our custom smile makeovers combine two or more cosmetic treatments to address multiple concerns at once.
Veneers are often included in smile makeovers because of their versatility. A patient with a prominent gap and stained teeth might combine veneers with teeth whitening for a Hollywood smile. Patients with worn teeth from bruxism or a TMJ disorder may receive veneers and porcelain crowns to restore their smile. Veneers can be paired with gum contouring for a more balanced smile, or with crown lengthening to refine the shape of your teeth.

- Cash Discounts: We offer a 5% cash discount.
- Credit Cards: We accept payment by credit card.
- CareCredit® Financing: Don't let out-of-pocket costs keep you from upgrading your smile and confidence. CareCredit is a third-party lender offering low-interest monthly payment plans to make cosmetic dental treatments an easy fit for your budget.
Candidates for Dental Veneers
Sufficient Enamel
Dental veneers require us to remove some enamel in order to achieve a natural-looking result. If you have a very thin layer of enamel that would result in a weakened tooth after these alterations, we will need to explore other solutions, such as dental bonding.
No Bruxism
Patients who grind or clench their teeth can end up wearing down or breaking their veneers. If you suffer from bruxism, we can recommend a protective mouthguard or an alternative form of treatment.
Good Oral Health
Before undergoing cosmetic procedures, we will first take care of your oral health. Our dentists will check for tooth decay and periodontal disease and treat those problems before starting work on your veneers.

Why Get Veneers When Bonding Is More Affordable?
Dental bonding is a more affordable way to enhance flawed teeth. It uses a tooth-colored composite resin instead of porcelain. However, resin is not as strong or stain-resistant as porcelain veneers.
Dental bonding can't look as realistic as veneers, and it doesn't last as long. However, it may be sufficient for your goals. Our dentists can help you decide during your consultation.
Frequently Asked Veneers Questions
Are veneers a substitute for orthodontics?
It depends. If your teeth only have minor misalignment that does not affect your oral health, veneers might be a viable solution to make your teeth look straight. However, if you have severe misalignment, orthodontics is a more appropriate solution.
Does veneer placement hurt?
No. Veneers are practically painless. If you have sensitive teeth, please let your dentist know. They can numb the area to ensure you are completely comfortable during treatment. However, such a small amount of enamel is removed that most patients don't require numbing.
How long is the recovery period after veneers are placed?
You won't have any downtime after your veneers are in place. You may experience some sensitivity to heat and cold after your teeth are prepped, but this is normal, and the discomfort will fade within a few weeks. During that time, you can minimize discomfort by taking care not to eat especially hot or cold foods.
Are dental veneers reversible?
Unfortunately, we do need to make some alterations to your natural tooth structure in order to make room for the veneer. That means the tooth will always require some kind of restoration. If you choose to undergo treatment, you will need to maintain the restorations with periodic replacements every decade or so.
What happens if my veneer comes off?
While the material we use to secure your restorations creates a very strong bond, there is still a chance that your veneer could come loose if you are injured or, for example, use your veneer to open a package. If this occurs, do not throw it away or try to reattach it yourself. Give us a call and we will schedule you into the office as soon as possible to put the veneer back into place.
How long do veneers last?
With proper care and maintenance, your veneers can last for 15 years or longer. It is important to remember that the porcelain will wear over time and eventually need to be replaced. By following our suggestions, you can help reduce the wear, which will help your new smile look its best for as long as possible.
Can I get veneers on all of my teeth?
No; veneers are designed to be placed only on the front teeth. If you have damage or wear on your back teeth, a dental crown is a better option. A crown is better suited to withstand the wear that back teeth undergo from chewing, and it will not only restore the appearance of the tooth but its function as well.
